WATERblue-H – powerful, groundbreaking pump technology
The demand for efficient, intelligent processes in the field of technical applications is constantly increasing, especially when it comes to pump technology. With the WATERblue-H self-priming pool water circulation pump, Herborner Pumpenfabrik has now developed a product innovation designed to combine both of these requirements in one hybrid pump.
Efficient, long-lasting, high-performance, low-maintenance pumps are universally in great demand for use in private, outdoor, recreational, hotel and adventure pools as well as in spa facilities. With the WATERblue-H, Herborner Pumpenfabrik presents its latest innovation in hybrid pump technology – a trendsetting piece of engineering for use in the swimming pools of the future. Sascha Korupp, Technical Manager at Herborner Pumpenfabrik, says: “High efficiency in a pump not only means low energy consumption but also the highest feasible standards with regard to long service life, low operating costs and minimal cleaning expenses.” Sascha Korupp emphasises that the materials and design of WATERblue-H precisely guarantee these key factors. With its hybrid design, the pump is manufactured using a special combination of materials. Bronze, high-strength glass-fibre-reinforced polypropylene and polyamide are all used in the sophisticated construction. Its special design also enables it to withstand pressure of up to 3 bars. Not only the strength, but also the weight of the compactly designed pump have now been optimised. Furthermore, WATERblue-H has been constructed to make it easy to install and maintain. The manufacturer has successfully extended the service life of WATERblue-H by fitting it with generously dimensioned shafts and bearings. Moreover, the pump and the motor have a shared shaft featuring additionally strengthened bearings. The fixed bearing is reinforced and designed for long-lasting service and to cope with extreme operational conditions. The time and therefore cost savings have also been significantly improved: the innovative design of an integrated lifting mechanism combined with straightforward closure technology keep the regular cleaning costs for the WATERblue-H comparatively low.
Particularly when it comes to their use as pool water circulation pumps, the innovative and efficient pump motors from Herborner Pumpenfabrik are highly recommended for minimising energy consumption and thereby also CO2 emissions. The development of energy-efficient pump motor technology has gained the manufacturer an unparalleled role, emphasises Sascha Korupp, Technical Manager. This is evident with the WATERblue-H and the various drive systems available as part of a High Efficiency Drive Concept. Depending on requirements, the pump can be powered by a High Efficiency IE2 motor, a Permanent Magnet motor (PM), a single-phase motor up to 2.2 kW or an NEMA motor for the American market. The company underscores its trendsetting role in this field, especially regarding PM motor technology, which Herborner Pumpenfabrik played an important part in developing: this powerful, highly efficient motor technology already surpasses the motor efficiency standards of the future set by Premium Efficiency Class (IE3). In terms of pure efficiency, the PM motor technology already meets the legal requirements that only come into force from 2015. “PM motors save considerable amounts of energy and increase the efficiency level by up to 13 per cent,” stresses Wolfram Kuhn, President of Herborner Pumpenfabrik.
